SS 11 Slideshare Notice

Sorry guys - "something" is blocking my PPT uploads to SlideShare here at school; I'll try again at home.

SS 11: Notes from Tues 25 Jan

Today,  I returned your Germany/Hitler paragraphs - I think your writing is getting better.  In addition to starting with a clear, meaningful topic sentence, ensure you don't forget to show the cause and effect relationships of the various key events and also remember to tell the "so what" piece.  Some people lost marks because they left out key steps in the process of Germany's transformation from young democracy to totalitarian state.  Remember to try to end your writing with an overall concluding (general) observation.  PLEASE COME GET EXTRA HELP WITH YOUR WRITING IF YOU'RE HAVING TROUBLE SEEING WHAT YOU NEED TO CHANGE TO IMPROVE - IF YOU DON'T CHANGE, EXPECT THE SAME RESULTS.

We also briefly discussed the steps that led to WW2 - this is a big topic in History 12, so I try not to get into too much detail in SS 11.  I have posted the PPT to via the SlideShare link.

Finally, we watched a short documentary on the Battle of the Atlantic and then had a discussion with PPT (again, see SlideShare).

IF YOU DID NOT DO THE WW1 PHOTO PARAGRAPH ASSIGNMENT, PLEASE COMPLETE A PARAGRAPH OUTLINING THE BATTLE OF THE ATLANTIC, FOR HOMEWORK, DUE NEXT CLASS.  SEE THE LIST BELOW IF YOU'RE UNSURE OF YOUR STATUS:
