  1. Hello, My name is Joel.September 7, 2011 at 2:09 PM

This year is the TRYHARD year for me, I hope to keep a 90% or above average all year. I want every essay and piece of writing to be a 5 or a 6.

  2. I am committed to try new things this year. On the outside I've signaled this change to myself my losing the shorts and going for a more grown up appearance. As you know I'm doing some graduate studying outside of class and I'm committed to employing some of the ideas I've been discussing/developing there. For example, I am going to move away from strictly teacher-directed novel studies in order to give some choice and other autonomy to my students. I think that our small class size gives us a unique opportunity to grow not only as readers and writers, but also as a community of thinkers and speakers. I am looking forward to this course, especially since I saw so much growth in all of you last year in English 11. I'm keen to see where you can go this year.

  3. This year I really want to be able to look down at the marks I receive on my pieces of writing and feel good about that mark. I'm going to focus on improving my writing and get in the exemplary range this year! I also want to start using my out of class time more effectively (during my spares and at home). Lastly, I want to start studying for the provincial before it becomes last minute (the day before) and maybe even start studying within the month before. I want to be able to leave this class feeling like I really learned something and am walking away knowing more than I did walking in. For my end result I want to be able to have an A for my last English class.

  4. My goal this year is to try harder and work on my writing skills. I hope to do my best and take advantage of having such a small class by getting more feedback and being more productive with my time. I want to keep my grades high and intend to do so by involving myself more in class discussions, spending more time on my writing and reading more into books ("between the lines.")

I feel i need to try harder in english twelve than i have in previous years, and if i could even ace the class and open my chances of getting into universities than that would be sweet. in order to succeed i need to out much more effort into my writing and finish my homework for once in my life :P i also think this hurts to type this so that is all..

This year is also going to be a prep year for Australia and university after, I'm going to improve myself in every way possible from food to fitness. Making money is a big priority for this year to finance my adventures and education. I'm going to keep myself better than Kohl.

  8. This year I plan on putting more effort and planning into my work. In previous years I've struggled to stay motivated and keep my attention from wandering when I should be paying attention or working on my assignment. Often when it comes to an in-class write or essay I feel unprepared and stressed and I hope to put an end to that this year.
I'm excited about our small class...:)

  10. Well, it sounds good, but talk is cheap. From time to time it will be important for us all to revisit this first post so that we can remind ourselves of our initial desire to commit to increased success. Thanks for all of your initial keenness and cooperation. GO TEAM!
