English 12: Testimonial

As we come to the final two weeks of the course, we are all tired and ready for school to be over (for some of us, it will be over for good).  Still, we're not there yet and have to keep it up to the end.  Please share your thoughts on working for a positive close to the semester.

  1. As I come closer and closer to the end of my final school year, I'm getting more and more anxious to just leave this school. But i still have to stay focused and on topic. I will have to start studying more at home and during spares. So all in all i have to study more and do more homework.

  3. A little determination goes a long way, and so far i've found that in English 12 it can mean the difference between a C+ and an A. However, with the end of the year so close it is hard to stay on task, and be devoted to our work. But if i were to tweak my attitude just enough to keep me on task for the following two weeks, and finish any uncompleted assignments, i can leave high school knowing that i applied myself in the best way possible, and if its not good enough for a high letter grade, who cares.

  4. Working on a positive finish to the year. It seems to me that this is the most important time of year to buckle down and try the hardest i've ever tried before, because this final exam could mean summer school if i bomb it, so im going to think positive and work hard so i don't have to go back to high school ever again...... :)

  5. I don't want to risk effecting my future because I was looking to far ahead. English is one of the most important courses to take in school as it can take us anywhere. We are here to improve our writing and understand the terms used in the English language today. I have not been working my best this past year because of it being our Grad year. However, I believe I will work and study harder in the next two weeks than I have in the last 18 years of my life. I'm not going to take the rest of my time here for granted, I will push myself to the best of my ability and finish this course without regret.

We all know though, it's easier said than done.

  6. When a runner sees the finish line does he/she slow down? No, he pushes himself to his final limits knowing that he will be able to rest soon enough. This is what we need to do, push through our final steps and graduate knowing we did our very best.

  7. The End Of The School Year can be Some What Rushed
And Staying Focused may not be enough
But at the end of the day, When you Ace that exam
You'll Say "I'm Glad Mr. Marshall put all that work in my hand"

  8. Thanks for posting. In the end, I hope you all leave our school satisfied with yourselves. All I can say is that in my life I subscribe to the "short-term pain equals long-term gain" philosophy. Sometimes that has meant that I haven't been able to do what my friends are doing and sometimes it has meant that I haven't been able to sleep as soon as I would have liked. But it has also meant that, generally speaking, I'm satisfied. Good luck.
