English 11: from Nov 30

Please remember to post "journal" comments to the blog regularly.

Group 1 should review their parts for reading in scenes 2-3.

Group 2 will start Act 2 next day.  Please ensure you have all pre-read Scenes 1-3.  I'll assign parts for performance next class.

  1. When the knife appears infront of Macbeth in act 2, I beleive it is a message from the witches telling macbeth to continue with his and his ladys plan. The fear he shows may be the fear he will show from guilt if succeeding with the murder of the king also. Because of this, I beleive this scene was a foreshadow of some sort.

  2. I also agree with Kohl, I think that the witches are trying to tell Macbeth something, at this point im not to sure what they are trying to inturpute, if there trying to tell macbeth that he should kill the king or just waite and give it some thought and think of the out come. I also think that id macbeth were to kill the king and frame the guards then eventually in the long run his plan could/ might back fire on him. Or macbeth would have a huge guilt apone his sholders.
